Richard is a Business Intelligence developer working with very large SQL Server 2008 databases, Integration Services, Analysis Services, Data Mining and PerformancePoint 2007 dashboard technologies.

Richard’s background is in very large database systems (he helped IBM launch DB2 in Australia and Europe).  He then worked for Microsoft for 10 years helping leading customers with data warehousing and business intelligence solutions.  He is unique in his world class technical skills combined with leading business strategy skills from a masters degree from London Business School. 

Richard wrote ThinSlicer (the worlds first web based cube browser) in 1998, which is used by many organizations throughout the world.  He soldThinSlicer on eBay in 2007.

Please visit the Demonstrations section of this site, which has a variety of data mining, OLAP and business intelligence tools on several real (census, web logs, Perfmon and libraries) and synthetic (foodmart) databases of over 100 Million records.  The demonstrations are platformed on Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and Microsoft SharePoint Server, Microsoft PerformancePoint Server 2007 and Excel Services.
